About Homeward Bound MinistriesWorship, Heart-felt, Peaceful, Real: In 1979 God put a call on a family from Covington, Indiana. A call they could not run from. A call to sing and to testify to what God has done and continues to do in their lives. Homeward Bound was formed by three brothers, Steve, Randy, and Darrell. Born and raised in central Indiana, these three set out to tell the world that Jesus loves them. Singing was not new for these brothers, they sang together as boys. From the tender age of six they would go to local nursing homes with their father and he would preach and they would sing. But now it was different. They would stand on their own and embrace the call of Christ as men, to go into all the world and tell them they needed a savior. Many miles have come and gone, along with several friends who have joined the group for a season, but the passion to tell the world is still alive. Along the way, many changes have been made, from traveling on a bus, to having a band, to traveling in a suburban, but the message is the same, God is coming back and we don't have long to get ready to go home. The styles have changes too. Once a Southern Gospel quartet, they now have a more contemporary sound. Though their sound may have evolved the truth is the same, Jesus is the only way. Homeward Bound is more than a name. It is a reminder that this is not the end. We are travelers on a journey to Heaven. We are here for only a time, a season, and it will pass too quickly.
