Pray for our leaders

1 Timothy 2

 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for   ALL MEN;

 2 For kings, and for ALL that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

THE JOURNEY TO THE PHILIPPINES

It was a foggy Tuesday morning as we left early for the airport not knowing how long it would take us to drive the distance. We arrived at the airport three hours before our flight was to leave from Indianapolis to Detroit. We were anticipating flying from Detroit to Tokyo and then from Tokyo to the Philippines with our friend Pastor Jim Combs and his Team from Waterford Michigan. We were ready to spend time talking about our own plans while the Father had other predetermined plans for us.

When we arrived at the check-in the attendant told us that our flight had been delayed because they did not have a flight crew with enough rest and therefore we would miss our connecting flight from Detroit to Tokyo. The attendant said, we would have to be rerouted through Minneapolis Minnesota and catch a flight from there to Tokyo where we would meet up with our team and fly from there with them to the Philippines. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed. We called Jim and let him know that we would have to meet them in Tokyo.

Delta Airlines did graciously upgrade our seats from the back to the front of the plane all the way to the Philippines and back to home. The Father placed us on the plane from Minneapolis to Tokyo with a businessman from China whom we soon would discover was ready to trust Christ as his personal savior. Darrell immediately introduced himself before the flight took off and we shared with him who we were and what we were doing. Looking back we realize that even our words were led by His Spirit.

I know you don't have time to read an 11 hour conversation with him, so I will be brief. He shared with us that a man he had done business with would read five chapters from the Bible every morning with everyone before he would begin the day of business meetings. It had created a desire in him to know who this Jesus was that he had read about. He said he had tried to find a bible in China but was unsuccessful. I told him that I had a book called, "The Promises of God" that I would give him and when we got back home I would send him a bible. Then the Spirit of God Gently said to me, "Hey Stupid, Give him yours". So Darrell and I signed the bible and gave it to him. For 10 hours he read the bible and asked question after question.

He read about creation in the book of Genesis and then I had him read the book of Colossians where it tells us that Jesus was the creator. His eyes lit up with excitement. Question after Question was asked and answered as we flew to Tokyo with him. We had to leave him in Tokyo as he flew on to Shang-Hi and we flew to the Philippines. We have been in contact with him and he is excited to meet friends in Shang-Hi of Joe & Wilu Ching whom we went to China with in 05 and 07. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins to grow in Christ. This is as much your victory as ours because without your generous gifts we would not have been able to GO.

It was a wonderful beginning to a very fruitful trip to the Philippines. A Dozen more people came to know Christ during the meetings we were involved in. Pastor Jim and his wife Carol delivered the Word of God to hundreds of hungry hearts. (Rodney) Rich Mossier's comedy brought joy to the hearts of everyone. Believers were soundly encouraged and strengthened in the Lord. They requested that we come back next April and sing for a gathering of 8,000 or more in the city of Tarlac. Believers will be gathering together bringing their friends to hear the message of Christ. We stayed in the city of CabanaTuan during our stay in the Philippines this time. We gained new friends that we will forever hold in our prayers and offerings to the Lord.
