Pray for our leaders

1 Timothy 2

 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for   ALL MEN;

 2 For kings, and for ALL that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

" ANY LAST WORDS "

"" Any Last Words", were the words spoken in old western movies right before they would hang someone, after being convicted for committing a crime.

Preparing a "Last Will and Testament" is something that all of us should consider doing so that our family members know exactly what our hearts desire is for them.  They are our Last Words they will ever hear from us.

The Last words that Jesus spoke to his disciples before his ascension to the Father are found in the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark.

Matthew 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

And as His Last Words I believe he meant them to last not only Their Lifetime, (John 17:9) but according to (John 17:21) He meant them for the lifetime of, "them also which shall believe on me through their word".

Philip is one of my favorite disciples.  You should take the time to read the different passages of scripture where he is mentioned.  For now let us go to the book of Acts where we find him Doing the Last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ.

In Acts chapter 8 we find him obeying the Spirit of the Lord as he joins himself to an Ethiopian eunuch and asks him if he knows what he is reading.

32The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:  33In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.  34And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?  35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.  36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?  37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.  39And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

The Beloved Apostle Paul said this in Romans 10: 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;  9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I have often been asked my opinion about the significance of Baptism.

I would humbly submit that my opinion doesn't matter because it was and is The Last Will and Testament Of Jesus Christ.
